Dr. Abiola Oke

Dr. Abiola Olufunke Oke has been an Entomologist at National Horticultural Research Institute, NIHORT, Ibadan, Nigeria since 2005 and currently a Research Director and Leader, Nigeria Tuta absoluta IPM programme. She received her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Pest Management from Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria in 2014. She was a Visiting Lecturer at Centre for Sustainable Livelihoods, Department of Food Business and Development, University College Cork, Ireland in 2013 and Visiting Researcher at the Virology and Molecular Diagnostics Unit, International Institute for Tropical Agriculture, IITA, Ibadan in 2015 – 2016. Dr. Oke was a National Consultant to Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on Project (TCP/NIR/3601). She owns patent of botanicals: NIHORT-Lyptol and NIHORT-Raktin for integrated management of Tuta absoluta on tomato. She is the President, African Association of Insect Scientists, (AAIS).
